Vicky's repairing the wheel on her suitcase, Canadian style (Ductape!!!), and Bruce is amassing all the meds, potions and concoctions that might be needed.
We leave September 6 for 17 days. The first 6 days will be spent with Kathy on the Greek Island of Samos. We have a lovely beachfront hotel at Glicorisa Beach near the port town of Pythagorio. We have rented a vehicle to allow us the freedom to visit Kathy in the main town of Vathi where she lives with her neice. We had hoped to visit her in Limnonaki, but she will be leaving her summer residence just prior to our arrival.
Oh well. We will visit Limnonaki on our own if the urge strikes. The roads to Limnonaki are actually donkey trails and we didn't rent a 4-wheel drive this time so we might give it a miss. Samos is a huge island with lots to see, so we have other plans for exploration.

On September 13th we head to Istanbul via Athens to begin an 11 night tour of Turkey Here's what it it looks like.
Interestingly, Samos is just a little be west of Kusadasi on this map. Just so's ya know, the shaded portion of the map in the bottom right hand corner is Syria. Yup ... looks like a vacation spot to me! 
5 more sleeps and we're on our way. I'm going to stop reading the newspaper.
